Beyond the Loop: Escaping the Cycle of Birth and Death

The Loop of Birth and Death

We are caught in a continuous loop of birth and death.

This process does not happen only once in a lifetime. It happens all the time. Our hair grows and falls. Our nails grow and are cut away. Even a lizard’s tail grows back and falls off again.

Everywhere we look, life appears, flourishes, and disappears, only to begin again.

Someone who says we are born once and die once is speaking from ignorance.

The Universal Pattern

If we observe carefully, everything in the universe follows the same rhythm. Stars are born, shine for a time, and eventually fade away. New stars take their place.

Even the galaxies and the universe itself move through this cycle. The Big Bang Theory tells us that creation, expansion, and disappearance are part of a single pattern.

So appearance, growth, and decline are happening everywhere.

We experience the same pattern in our own lives when we celebrate our birthdays and yet fear death.

Why We Need to Break the Loop

Before understanding how to break the loop, we must ask why we want to.

We wish to escape this cycle because we fear death, disease, and old age. As long as we live inside the loop, we must experience both pleasure and pain, since one always follows the other.

Some people who enjoy the pleasant parts may wish to stay on this roller coaster of life.
But those who are disturbed by its painful side, or those who find it meaningless and tiring, naturally wish to step off the ride.

How to End the Loop

The loop can end when we reduce its size until it becomes so small that it disappears.

Our mind constantly moves in circles through thoughts, emotions, and activities. The more we do, the larger the loop becomes.
If we reduce the number of activities or follow a simple and steady routine, the loop becomes smaller.

When our mind focuses on very few things with regular rhythm, such as remembering the name of the Lord, the loop begins to fade.

That is the key idea:

Shift from a busy schedule to constant remembrance or chanting, so that the mind becomes still.

Life After the Loop

What happens when we step out of the loop?

The world continues as before. People still laugh, cry, enjoy, and fear. But we are no longer trapped in it.

We may still take part in the world at times, but only out of choice, not compulsion.
The experience becomes light and joyful, like taking a ride just for fun.
That is the freedom of being outside the loop.
